Powered paragliding

A form of recreation and sport. The pilot flies with a paraglider equipped with a drive motor and a fixed chassis (powered parachutes, paraplanes). There are also paragliders equipped with a low-power drive engine, but without a fixed chassis (they are foot-launched by the pilot). Powered paragliders enable to perform long flights also in conditions where free paragliders can no longer stay airborne. They allow for performing flights at low altitudes. Types of competition include navigation flying in the classic sense of the word (i.e. with a map, not using electronic navigation – GPS) and slalom flying along specified routes
